What's the story behind Amie Paxton?

Founder and CEO of Frictionless Intelligence. Startup advisor, investor, and co-host of Off The Grid ATX. Based in Austin, TX.

Amie Paxton is the founder and CEO of Frictionless Intelligence, an AI-powered platform helping startup founders measure their funding readiness, connect with aligned investors, and execute with clarity.

Prior to building Frictionless Intelligence, Amie spent 25+ years in a combination of marketing leadership roles at Dell, Walmart, advertising agencies, and Austin startups. She has worked with 500+ founders across the US, LATAM, and Europe, helping generate millions in investment across her portfolio.

Amie grew up in a midwest farming community, and she credits that upbringing with the grit and work ethic that has shaped everything since. Life, in her view, is not about being book-smart. It is about taking chances, pushing limits, and putting yourself in position to work hard and fail forward. She learned early that confidence is not something you are given. It is something you build, protect, and pass on.

That belief runs through everything she does. From the boardroom to the funding table, Amie has spent her career making space for founders and women who are ready to back themselves and need a room that backs them too. Outside of her work in venture and AI, she is actively engaged in conversations around women's self-confidence, identity, and what it looks like to grow into your fullest self at every stage of life.

She earned her degree at The University of Texas at Austin and continued her education at Boston University, where she later taught Master's courses in business. She served as Board Chair of EcoRise, a sustainability education nonprofit serving K-12 students across the US.

Amie co-hosts Off The Grid ATX, an invite-only investor and founder networking series in Austin. She lives in Central Texas with her two teenage daughters.

Speaking Topics

  • How artificial intelligence is changing the way founders get funded, how investors evaluate deals, and what the next generation of capital deployment actually looks like.

  • Most founders think they are investor-ready when they are not. Amie breaks down the signals investors evaluate before a single meeting, and what founders can do right now to close the gap.

  • Raising capital is not an event. It is a relationship built over time. Amie walks founders through how to build investor relationships, manage their pipeline, and show up ready when the moment comes.

  • What 25 years inside large organizations actually teaches you about building something from scratch, and why the operators who go out on their own often have an edge that pure startup founders underestimate.

  • Confidence is not a personality trait. It is a practice, and it has a direct impact on how founders pitch, negotiate, hire, and lead. Amie draws on 25+ years at the table to talk about what it actually looks like to back yourself when the room is not designed for you.

  • Whether you are launching a company, changing careers, or stepping into a completely new chapter, growth rarely looks the way you planned. Amie speaks to the personal and professional dimensions of reinvention, and what it takes to move forward with clarity and confidence.
